Trying a Turkish bath for the first time? Here are the 10 questions our guests in Kemer ask most often.
1. What do I wear?
A peshtemal is used; wear swimwear or underwear underneath.
2. What should I bring?
Fresh clothes and, if you like, your own moisturiser. Leave valuables and jewellery behind.
3. Does the scrub hurt?
It feels like firm rubbing but should not hurt. Ask for lighter pressure any time.
4. How long does it take?
Scrub and foam take about 20–30 minutes; packages with massage take 70–140 minutes.
5. What is the difference between kese and foam?
Kese is the exfoliating scrub; the foam massage follows with rich soap foam.
6. Can I eat before?
A light meal is fine; avoid a heavy one right before.
7. Can I go when pregnant?
Hot rooms may not be suitable in pregnancy. Ask your doctor first and tell our team.
8. What about my period?
It is a personal choice. If you would feel more comfortable, choose a massage only or move your booking.
9. What if I have sunburn?
No scrub on sunburnt skin. Tell us before the session.
10. What should I do afterwards?
Drink water, rest and avoid strong sun for a few hours.
For a first visit, Package 1 is a great start. See the ritual on our Turkish Bath page and prices on the Packages page.
What Happens on Your First Visit?
After a short welcome at reception you are shown to the changing area. In your peshtemal you warm up in the sauna or steam room, then rest on the warm marble until the attendant begins the scrub and foam. After rinsing, you move to the massage room if your package includes a massage. Our team guides you through every step.
Common Myths
"The scrub really hurts."
A properly done scrub does not hurt; the pressure is adjusted for you.
"A hammam is just for washing."
It is also a ritual of rest, so come when you are not in a hurry.
"You can swim in the sea right after."
Skin is more sensitive after a scrub, so avoid strong sun and salt water for a few hours.

If You Loved the Hammam, What Next?
If you enjoyed your first hammam, try a longer package later in your holiday. Packages with a coffee scrub and a Balinese aroma massage take the ritual one step further, and for couples there is also the couples massage. Many of our guests try the hammam at the start of their stay and come back on the last days to go home rested. Prices and contents are on our packages page.

More Questions
What should I bring?
A clean change of clothes and, if you like, your own moisturiser are enough. A peshtemal is used in the hammam and our team will explain everything else.
Can I come alone?
Of course. Many guests come on their own to take some quiet time for themselves.
